On January 29, 1886, Karl Benz applied for a patent for his invented three-wheeled vehicle in Berlin. This day is considered the birthday of the invention — the automobile, which celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2011. On the same day, Gottlieb Daimler created the first four-wheeled automobile. Thus, the founders of Daimler AG and its globally successful flagship brand Mercedes-Benz, working independently, laid the foundation for the production of all modern passenger cars, trucks, and buses. Over time, the company, unlike other car manufacturers, has developed more steadily, focusing on all critical aspects of the business — from technology to design, ensuring comfort and safety.

Since the presentation of Karl Benz's "Motorwagen Patent" and Gottlieb Daimler's "Motor Car" in 1886, the company has registered over 80,000 patents, confirming its leadership in technology. "Benz's Motorwagen Patent" was the world's first automobile, a symbol of innovative spirit and craftsmanship. The design of this masterfully crafted three-wheeled vehicle marked the beginning of the speed era. Daimler's motorized carriage, on the other hand, became the first four-wheeled automobile.
